Data Engineer

About the Role We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Data Engineer to take end to end ownership of our enterprise data platform. The role will lead the project to migrate and implement a modern cloud-based data platform, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors, driving technical decisions, and ensuring high standards of data quality, scalability, and governance. Following implementation, the role will own the ongoing management and evolution of the platform, ensuring its continuous improvement and long-term ability to support the organization's analytics, reporting, and future AI capabilities. This role combines strong hands-on data engineering expertise with project leadership and end to end ownership of a strategic enterprise platform. Responsibilities: Customer Project Management - Serve as the project manager, working closely with the vendor's PM and team from initiation through delivery. Technical Authority - Act as the lead technical decision-maker for all technical design choices and issues (architecture, pipelines, storage, performance). Data Quality - Own data quality management ensuring timely and reliable data (validation logic, dependencies, lineage documentation, delivery SLA). Data Governance - Establish the data governance operating model, including data ownership structures and stewardship responsibilities. Business Alignment - Manage and prioritize requirements across business units, based on a deep understanding of enterprise business processes. Requirements: 5+ years of advanced, hands-on SQL experience Solid experience with ELT/ETL processes Proven experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks) and data lake architectures Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of business processes Proven track record managing vendor project teams Solid knowledge of Priority ERP table structures and experience extracting data from Priority Experience leading or participating in a data warehouse migration to the cloud - Advantage Skills & Tools: ETL/ELT: REST API, dbt Cloud: AWS Lambda, Amazon S3 Data Warehousing: Snowflake, Databricks Data Modeling: Star/snowflake schemas, dimensional data modeling ERP: Priority ERP table structure and rest API Show more Show less
