Software Engineer

IVIX is the first AI-powered solution designed specifically to address a $20 trillion problem: illuminating the global shadow economy. IVIX leverages Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and advanced technologies to reveal illicit business activity around the world, empowering governments in their mission to fight financial crime and close the tax gap. Our platform combines AI technologies-including deep neural networks, large language models, and predictive modeling-with advanced data analytics to rapidly identify large-scale illicit business activity and help government authorities combat financial crime in the digital age. Led by experts in security, technology, tax, and financial crime, and advised by a diverse team of former IRS commissioners, IVIX works with dozens of state and federal government agencies globally. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with a strong backend orientation to join the IVIX R&D team. You will build and maintain data-intensive web applications across a polyglot monorepo, working with a React/TypeScript frontend, Python/FastAPI and NestJS backends, and a MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Neo4j data layer. Our systems are deployed both on-premises and as a SaaS offering on Kubernetes. What You'll Do Develop end-to-end features and systems used daily by key stakeholders, both internally and externally. Evolve our engineering and architecture to support the growing scale of users, features, and data. Work closely with Product and Design while taking full ownership of features- from planning and technical design through development and post-deployment. Design and implement solutions to complex problems involving large-scale data. Write and maintain tests across the stack. Contribute to shared libraries, infrastructure, and engineering best practices. Tech Stack Frontend: React, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, TanStack Query Backend: Python (FastAPI), Node.js (NestJS) Data: MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, Neo4j, Kafka Data Orchestration: Apache Airflow Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitHub Actions Deployment: On-premises and SaaS 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend development. Strong experience with React, Node.js, and TypeScript. 3+ years of experience with Python backend development, preferably using FastAPI or similar asynchronous frameworks. Solid understanding of SQL, MongoDB, and data modeling. Experience designing and building REST APIs. Experience developing and maintaining high-scale systems. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Self-driven, proactive, and collaborative, with excellent interpersonal skills. BSc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - an advantage.
